As we know England is a major player on the global economic
front, home to a number of corporate giants that effects the economy, not only
of the United Kingdom (comprising England, Scotland, Wales and Northern

Top Fashion Retailers in Europe – new brands on the
rise
Ever heard of Uniqlo, Abercrombie
& Fitch, Hollister, Primark or Forever 21? These new names are making
European consumers’ hearts beat faster.
The mood in Europe’s fashion
industry is currently set by the Spanish Inditex group, Sweden’s H&M, and
the Dutch company C&A. With its brands Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear,
Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Oysho and UterĂ¼e, the Inditex group operated more
than 5,400 stores in 2011, 4,200 of which are located in Europe. H&M
currently operates around 2,500 branches, with three fourths located in Europe.
C&A has a total of over 1,500 stores in 19 (exclusively) European
countries. These top 3 by turnover in Europe’s fashion market are now being
subjected to increased competition from other parts of the world.
The US-American brand Forever 21,
which can be considered a direct competitor of H&M,
Germany is planned for 2013 in
Munich. Ireland’s Primark has been active in continental Europe since 2006, and
has already been represented in Germany with seven stores since 2009
. The
company is poised to enter Austria in 2012 with two shops. Hollister and
Abercrombie & Fitch, both popular American brands, also began their
expansion into Europe in 2007. Last but not least, the Japanese brand Uniqlo is
also mixing things up on the European market – in the United Kingdom, France
and Russia for now. Market entry in Germany is to follow soon.
